As the Indian summer gets underway, the excitement among cricket fans in the country is also on the rise as the new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin later this month.

Bet here on India vs England and other cricket matches!

The fixtures for the 2024 season were released last week, with the first 21 matches being finalised. The opening game will see defending champions Chennai Super Kings take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Will Gujarat Titans’ Matthew Wade play in IPL 2024?

Gujarat Titans have been a force to reckon with in the IPL, despite playing only two seasons. They won the title in 2022, before making it to the final in 2023 where they were defeated by Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling final.

They will take on Mumbai Indians in their opening fixture on March 24, as former captain Hardik Pandya returns to Ahmedabad for the first time since his pre-auction move to Mumbai Indians in an all-cash deal.

GT will be without wicketkeeper Matthew Wade for the first match of the tournament, as the Australian is set to play for Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield final, Australia’s premier first-class competition. The match will take place from March 21-25. Depending on his travel arrangements, he may miss their second match against Chennai Super Kings on March 26 as well.

However, Wade hasn’t made his presence felt with the Titans. He played 10 matches for them in 2022, but did not take part in a single game last season. Indian Wriddhiman Saha has been the first-choice player in the opening and wicketkeeping positions. The other keeping option is youngster Robin Minz.
