[I think] putting pressure on him is the best way to counter it, really making him guess the lengths he needs to bowl. The way to do that is come down the wicket, stay back deep in your crease. Give yourself a bit of room, come across to the offside. You have to make him guess because he’s so smart and understands his own game so well.
In Rajkot, Ashwin became just the second Indian player to pick up 500 Test wickets, after leg-spinner Anil Kumble. He has not been at his best so far in this series, but if he is in Ranchi it could help India seal ther series right there.
