The imposter, claiming to be associated with FedEx Courier Company, informed the actress of an intercepted parcel bound for Taiwan registered in her name. He alleged that drugs were discovered in the said parcel. He also told Ms. Patil that her Aadhaar was found in the parcel along with the contraption. To prevent potential misuse of her personal information, the actress was instructed to contact the Mumbai cyber police. Subsequently, a Skype call from an individual identifying as Mr. Banerjee from the cyber police alleged Patil’s Aadhaar card was found to be linked with three bank accounts.
