The iPhone 16 series is on the horizon, set to debut later this year as the successor to the iPhone 15 lineup, which made its debut in September 2023. With significant upgrades anticipated over current handsets, the upcoming models are generating considerable excitement among tech enthusiasts.

Numerous leaks and reports circulating online in recent months have provided glimpses into the purported features of the iPhone 16 lineup. Details spanning from camera enhancements to processor upgrades and even dimensional changes have surfaced, offering tantalizing hints about what to expect from these forthcoming devices.

A recent report from Sisajournal (via @Tech_Reve) suggests that Apple is poised to incorporate a groundbreaking technology called Border Reduction Structure (BRS) into the iPhone 16 models. Commonly referred to as ‘Borderless’ technology, BRS aims to minimize bezel size, particularly focusing on slimming down the bottom bezel, also known as the chin, by employing a method of rolling copper wires upward.

Apple is expected to reduce the bezels of the upcoming iPhone 16 series, set to be released in the second half of this year.

In the pursuit of thinner bottom bezels, manufacturers have historically faced challenges, particularly in managing heat generation. However, the rolling copper wires approach utilized by BRS purportedly address this hurdle, opening avenues for more streamlined device designs.

Both Samsung Display and LG Display, key providers of screens for iPhone 16 models, are reported to embrace the BRS technology. This feature is expected to be available across all four rumoured models: the base iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max signaling a collective stride towards Apple’s ambition of crafting a truly bezel-less smartphone.
