Indian actor Ranveer Singh was honored for his contribution to cinema at the third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival. In his acceptance speech, Singh thanked Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, whom he referred to as the “master of transformation”. The actor was presented with the Honorary Yusr Award by Hollywood star Sharon Stone, expressing his admiration for Depp, who was also present at the opening ceremony.
Singh expressed his gratitude to Depp for unknowingly teaching him about the craft and inspiring him with his versatility. The festival’s official handle shared a picture of Singh and Depp at the event.
The festival also saw the participation of other Indian cinema personalities such as filmmaker Karan Johar and actors Katrina Kaif and Frieda Pinto. The Yusr Awards at the festival recognize emerging and established voices across various formats of cinema including fiction, documentary, and animation.
The Red Sea International Film Festival, which opened on Thursday, will conclude on December 9. This prestigious event brings together talent from around the world to celebrate the art of cinema.
