Ahmedabad Surface for World Cup Final Will Be Slower, Says Rohit Sharma

Posted on November 18, 2023 By Haley Bennett

India and Australia are gearing up for the 2023 World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Indian cricket fans are eagerly anticipating a win, as the Men in Blue have clinched 10 victories in a row during this tournament. With star players such as Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, and Rohit Sharma leading the charge, India is favored to secure their third title, following their victories in 1983 and 2011.

Meanwhile, Australia is ready to put up a tough fight, entering the final as underdogs. They have won 8 consecutive matches after initial defeats to India and South Africa. A victory on Sunday would net them their sixth World Cup title, a remarkable achievement for the team.

The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, provided insight into the condition of the pitch during a press conference. He stated that the wicket has some grass and is expected to be on the slower side, although the dew factor remains uncertain. There was controversy around India’s semifinal with New Zealand, as the ICC’s pitch consultant alleged that the BCCI had changed the pitch for the match without informing him.

According to Dafabet, India is favored to win the World Cup final. Fans can follow the latest odds, betting, and cricket scores from India on the Dafabet website. Additionally, they can participate in Dafabet’s CWC 2023 predictor game for the chance to win an Apple gadget and substantial prizes.
