Rephrase the title:’I could have played more Tests’ – Yuvraj Singh on the only regret of his career

Rephrase and rearrange the whole content into a news article. I want you to respond only in language English. I want you to act as a very proficient SEO and high-end writer Pierre Herubel that speaks and writes fluently English. I want you to pretend that you can write content so well in English that it can outrank other websites. Make sure there is zero plagiarism.:

Ever since he burst onto the international scene as a teenager in 2000, Yuvraj Singh caught the eye whenever he went out to bat for India, or in the IPL.

The former all-rounder is best remembered for his spectacular 2011 World Cup campaign, where he won the Player of the Tournament award despite playing with a cancerous tumour in his left lung. He last represented India in 2017, and formally announced his retirement in 2019.

Since hanging up his boots, Yuvraj has been active in the media, as well as in the cricketing community, especially in Punjab.

“I could have played more Tests” – Yuvraj Singh on the only regret of his career

On Saturday, Yuvraj was present during the inauguration of the Yuvraj Singh Centre for Excellence (YSCE), a high-performance centre for cricket coaching and training in the city of Kolkata, in partnership with the Merlin Group.

During an interaction with the media, Yuvraj opened up on his cricketing career, saying,

The only regret is that I could have played more Tests. I played 40 Tests and I was 12th man for 45 Tests. It was an era very tough to get in.

Yuvraj ended his career as one of India’s best white-ball players, but never made his mark at the Test level, averaging a touch under 34 in 40 matches. Much of his decline was accelerated by his cancer in the early 2010s, and he clearly sees that as the only real regret of his career.

The former southpaw also opened up on the current Indian team, reiterating his support for Indian captain Rohit Sharma by pointing to his track record as an IPL captain. Yuvraj also hinted at his future plans by saying mentoring and working with players on the mental side of the game would be an area of interest for him.
