Using Google’s LLMs to analyze around 250 million places, community insights of over 300 million contributions, reviews, and more, it leverages a more conversational experience to deliver the next destination.
In Google’s example, users may use the “Ask about” feature on its UI to get started in using the AI to search for places that best fit their search.
Currently, it is under Google Maps’ experiment to integrate the AI feature, with users given the chance to talk to it like asking a friend about a place that meets their needs. Google also makes the experience collaborative to share with friends.
Additionally, Google brings Local Guides to Maps which brings people to interact with members of the platform’s community to share their insights and help those in need to get intuitive answers to valid questions. Through this, Google will collate the information they share and use it for others to access whenever needed.
