Hyundai has revealed the 2024 Santa Fe at AutoMobility LA, showcasing an expanded utility concept. With a wider liftgate opening and more spacious interior, the new Santa Fe aims to seamlessly connect the interior with the outdoor environment, transforming the liftgate area into a terrace-like space for passengers to enjoy the surroundings.
The company has invested $190 million in Hyundai Motor Manufacturing, LLC (HMMA) to prepare for the production of the fifth-generation Santa Fe.
The 2024 Santa Fe boasts a 2.5T model and is set to launch in March 2024, followed by the Hybrid model hitting the market in spring. The SUV’s design strategy emphasizes its enlarged liftgate concept, creating a terrace-like living space.
Moreover, premium features of the Hyundai 2024 Santa Fe include a Panoramic Curved Display, UV-C sterilization compartment, dual wireless charging system, and a Bose 12-speaker premium sound system. The SUV prioritizes living space by increasing cargo capacity and second- and third-row legroom.
The 2024 Santa Fe offers a choice of two powertrains, standard 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission for estimated 277 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque, or a hybrid variant with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and a six-speed automatic transmission, offering approximately 232 horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of torque.
Jose Muñoz, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America, stated, “Our newest Santa Fe will attract even more customers with its bold, distinctive design identity, spacious interior design, and unique ability to fuse urban customer lifestyles with the natural outside environment.”
