“Batsmen Win Matches, But Bowlers Win Series” – Suryakumar Yadav’s Reflection on India’s T20I Series Victory against Australia

India secured a thrilling 6-run victory over Australia in the fifth T20 match of their bilateral series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday. Despite a shaky start with the bat, India managed to post a respectable total of 160/8, thanks to strong performances from Shreyas Iyer, Jitesh Sharma, and Axar Patel.

In response, the Indian bowlers put on a solid display to contain Australia’s batting lineup, ultimately clinching the victory and securing a 4-1 series win. Captain Suryakumar Yadav credited the bowlers for their stellar performance throughout the series, highlighting the integral role they played in India’s success.

Yadav emphasized the importance of bowlers in T20 cricket, stating, “batsmen win matches but bowlers will win series for you.” He singled out players like Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi for their outstanding contributions, as well as praising pacer Arshdeep Singh for his crucial performance in the final over of the match.

The victory further solidified India’s dominance in the series, with Yadav expressing confidence in the team’s ability to continue their strong form.
