The first Apple Watch Ultra was introduced in September 2022, followed by the Watch Ultra 2 in the second half of 2023, both targeting the premium segment of the market with a price of Rs 89,900 in India. Examining the FCC renders, the design retains the rugged aesthetic of the Apple Watch Ultra 2, with the familiar placement of the digital crown, Action button, speaker grilles, and microphones.
Noteworthy differences in the design include a black ceramic back panel reminiscent of older Apple Watch models, as well as a redesigned Action button constructed from plastic instead of metal, hinting at a potential shift towards a more budget-friendly design.
