Then while chasing, India lost their first four wickets for just 110 runs within the second session of the first day. From thereon, Virat Kohli was going strong along with KL Rahul before the latter departed for eight runs after facing 33 deliveries. India were reduced to 153 for five.

Thereafter, India lost their remaining five wickets without scoring a single run as Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi breathed fire.

India first team to lose 6 wickets without scoring a run in a Test innings

By losing their last six wickets in just 11 balls, team India became the first-ever Test side to lose six wickets without scoring a single run in an innings.

Rabada, Ngidi and Nandre Burger took wickets three wickets each to clear out the Indian batting lineup.

What next for the Indian cricket team?

The Indian fast bowlers will hope to take advantage of the bouncy surface and replicate their performance from the first innings so that they can restrict South Africa to a humble total and then chase it down in the second innings to restore parity in the series.
