Team news and starting 11s for Champions League match between Barcelona and Porto: Ter Stegen will be absent

Posted on November 28, 2023February 17, 2026 By Corey Powell

Barcelona on Verge of Champions League Knockout Spot Ahead of Porto Clash

Barcelona is in prime position to secure a place in the Champions League Round of 16 as they prepare to face off against Porto on November 28. A victory at home for Xavi’s squad would solidify their status as Group H winners, putting them ahead of Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk in their head-to-head record. They will also face Royal Antwerp in their final group match on December 13.

With their knockout spot in sight, Xavi will shift focus to the La Liga title race in December, with key matches against Girona and Atletico Madrid on the horizon.

The battle for second place in Group H is expected to go down to the wire, with Porto hosting Shakhtar to determine their fate, as they hope to pull off a surprise victory against Barcelona.

Barcelona’s lineup will be impacted by the absence of Gavi due to a serious knee injury, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen is unlikely to play due to a back issue, with Inaki Pena expected to take over in goal. Veteran Pepe is the main injury concern for Porto, struggling with a muscle strain.

The projected starting lineups for both teams are as follows:

Barcelona starting 11:
– Pena (GK), Cancelo, Araujo, Martinez, Balde, Pedri, Gundogan, De Jong, Lamine Yamal, Lewandowski, Felix.

Porto starting 11:
– Costa (GK), Mario, Grujic, Sanchez, Sanusi, Franco, Eustaquio, Varela, Galeno, Evanilson, Taremi.

Viewers worldwide can watch the match through various streaming services and TV channels, including TUDN USA, Univision, TNT Sports 4, Stan Sport, beIN Sports Connect, and more.

With Barcelona’s strong position in their group, they aim to continue their successful run in the Champions League as they eye a place in the knockout stage.
